1000 Friends of New Mexico is the only statewide community-based group dedicated to managing growth, building healthy, sustainable communities, and fighting irresponsible development and sprawl.Â
We are not just an organization, but a movement for a better New Mexico. In 1995, the organization’s founders were committed to the idea that “with enough friends” the community could help ensure a more sustainable and vibrant New Mexico.
That spirit of joining together endures to this day.Â
Over the years, we continually demonstrate what good friends we have. With hundreds of member friends across the state, we have changed the way people think about important issues like transportation, water and urban design. We’re committed to having important discussions about how to best manage community growth and resource use.
At 1000 Friends, our strength and impact are measured by the commitment and generosity of our membership. With your membership and contribution, you will become part of a movement for change, interacting with a community of New Mexicans from all walks of life who share a common vision for a better New Mexico.
